Advanced Placement (AP) Exams

Advanced Placement (AP) Exams are offered to high school students through CollegeBoard. 学生可能 request a transcript from CollegeBoard to be sent to Blackhawk Technical College. BTC will award credit for scores of 3 or higher.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

CLEP exams help you get college credit for what you already know, for a fraction of the cost of a college course. CLEP exams help you earn college credit whether you're getting a head start on college or working to finish your degree. Blackhawk Technical College will award credits for scores of 50 or higher on the CLEP exam. The credits you earn will help you achieve your goals faster while spending less on tuition. Each exam takes only between 90 and 120 minutes to complete and you receive scores instantly.

2	Find the exam that's right for you While all CLEP exams are offered at our 测试中心, please review the available CLEP exams to see the number of credits granted and course equivalents. In order to receive credit, you must obtain a score of at least 50 on your CLEP exam. For help selecting the right exam, please call our 测试中心 at (608) 757-7666.

3	Register for your exam via CLEP's website Once you've determined which exam you wish to take, register online via CLEP's website. Note: the $87 CLEP exam fee must be paid directly to CLEP.

4	Schedule your exam day at BTC's 测试中心 Schedule to take your exam(s) at our 测试中心 by calling (608) 757-7666. Note: the $25 administration fee must be paid directly to Blackhawk Technical College's 登记 and 记录 on the day of your scheduled exam.

挑战考试 assess your understanding of course content and determine if you demonstrate competency in that subject. These exams are typically 2-3 hours long and may be comprised of essay, 简短的回答, 匹配, or multiple-choice questions. Upon successfully passing a Challenge Exam, you may be granted credit for that course, which would be entered on your student record and appear on your transcripts as "PP".

1	Register for the Challenge Exam Prior to registering for a Challenge Exam, you must 申请大学. 检查 Eligible Challenge Exam Courses for a listing of available exams, passing scores, testing details. 然后, meet with your assigned advisor to register for the Challenge Exam.

2	支付考试费用 Each exam costs $50 (non-refundable) and must be paid at 登记 and 记录. You will receive a payment receipt which you will need to bring with you to your scheduled exam.

3	Schedule your exam appointment Call (608) 757-7666 or stop by the 测试中心 to schedule a Challenge Exam appointment. Students must present their photo ID, 注册表单, payment receipt on the day of the appointment. Arrangements for accommodating students will be made as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
